U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) issued a statement following the decision by Brazil’s Ministry of the Economy's Foreign Trade Chamber (CAMEX) to maintain an 18% tariff on American ethanol as of June 13, 2024.

“Brazil’s unfair tariff on American ethanol is a direct attack on our corn growers, ethanol producers, and rural communities,” Feenstra said. “Restricting imports of U.S. ethanol while Brazilian ethanol benefits from our Renewable Fuel Standard is totally out of line and unacceptable. I continue to urge the Biden administration to hold Brazil accountable and work towards the full repeal of this burdensome tariff on our producers.”

Feenstra's statement reflects ongoing concerns over trade policies impacting U.S. agricultural sectors.
