U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra has cast his vote in favor of the Fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), a decision that brings significant pay increases for U.S. troops. The act includes a 14.5% raise for junior enlisted members and a 4.5% increase for all other service personnel.

Feenstra stated, "In our increasingly dangerous world, we must always ensure that the U.S. military remains the most feared and lethal fighting force the world has ever known." He emphasized threats from nations such as China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea, along with various terrorist groups.

The legislation is designed to bolster U.S. defense capabilities by supporting allies like Israel and investing in resources for military personnel and their families. This includes enhancements to military housing and childcare facilities.

Feenstra also highlighted provisions within the act aimed at banning certain initiatives: "It also bans radical DEI initiatives in our military, prohibits the teaching of Critical Race Theory at military schools, and requires the Department of Defense to report to Congress on military cooperation between China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran."

He concluded by acknowledging the sacrifices made by servicemembers: "Our troops and their families make incredible sacrifices so that we can all enjoy the freedoms and liberties that make the United States the greatest country on Earth."
