U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra has announced an opportunity for veterans or Gold Star Family members to join his district office team. The selected individual will be responsible for engaging with military and veteran constituents, managing veterans-related casework, and serving as a liaison with various governmental agencies.

Rep. Feenstra emphasized the significance of supporting these groups: “Supporting our veterans and Gold Star Families is an important priority for me in Congress. We owe these incredible Americans – who have made sacrifices themselves or on behalf of their loved ones – to keep our nation safe and free,” he stated. He is seeking to employ someone from these backgrounds to ensure that veterans and servicemembers receive the healthcare, benefits, and support they deserve.

This hiring initiative falls under the Green & Gold Congressional Aide Program by the U.S. House of Representatives, which offers employment opportunities to veterans and Gold Star Families within member offices.

Eligibility criteria for this program require that veterans must have been honorably discharged within the last six years, holding terminal pay grades at or below E-5, O-3, or W-2. Those promoted shortly before separation are also eligible if they meet other conditions. However, those receiving a 20-year or Temporary Early Retirement Authorization retirement are not eligible.

Gold Star applicants should be close relatives of service members who died in duty or due to service-connected disabilities within four years post-service.

Interested candidates can find more information about applying by searching “Green & Gold Congressional Aide Program” on https://www.usajobs.gov/.
