U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra has cast his vote in favor of a resolution aimed at overturning a regulation implemented during the Biden administration, which impacted the domestic rubber tire manufacturing industry. The U.S. House of Representatives successfully passed this resolution.

The regulation in question was finalized on November 29, 2024, and according to Rep. Feenstra, imposed costly requirements on American businesses within the rubber tire sector. He expressed concern over the potential negative effects on costs for families, domestic manufacturing capabilities, and employment opportunities in the United States.

“On his way out of office, President Biden saddled American businesses and manufacturers with costly and burdensome regulations," stated Rep. Feenstra. "One of his reckless decisions specifically targeted our rubber tire manufacturing sector, forcing this vital industry to comply with expensive regulations and other red tape on very short notice."

Feenstra further elaborated that such regulations could drive up costs for families and result in job losses by pushing investments overseas: “This move by the Biden administration would only raise costs for our families, hurt our domestic manufacturing, and eliminate good-paying American jobs."

He emphasized his decision to support rescinding the regulation as a means to bolster domestic manufacturing efforts and safeguard critical supply chains from being outsourced: "I voted to rescind this Biden-era regulation on our tire manufacturers because we need to encourage domestic manufacturing and bring critical supply chains back home – not outsource more jobs and investment to China.”
