U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra has announced the commencement of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for high school students in Iowa's 4th Congressional District. This annual event is part of a nationwide initiative by the U.S. House of Representatives to foster artistic expression among students.

The winner will have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol for a year and be invited to a congressional reception in Washington, D.C., while three runners-up will see their works exhibited in Feenstra’s district offices located in Sioux City, Fort Dodge, and Council Bluffs.

“I’m excited to kick off the Congressional Art Competition for students in the 4th District to showcase their artistic abilities and compete for a chance to have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol or one of our three district offices. This competition gives our young people the opportunity to have fun while engaging with government,” stated Rep. Feenstra.

Submissions will be evaluated on originality, concept, technique, creativity, and representation of Iowa’s 4th Congressional District. Students are required to submit at least two photographs of their artwork via email to Emily Schwickerath at Emily.Schwickerath@mail.house.gov by April 25, 2025, at 5 PM CT.

Rep. Feenstra encourages participation from interested students and looks forward to reviewing submissions and displaying them both in Washington, D.C., and local district offices.

For additional information or inquiries, Emily Schwickerath can be contacted at Emily.Schwickerath@mail.house.gov or 515-408-9097.
