Today, U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra from Hull, Iowa, acknowledged the efforts of Iowa's farmers and producers on National Agriculture Day. In his statement, Feenstra expressed gratitude for their dedication to sustaining both the national and global food supply.
"On National Agriculture Day, I want to thank Iowa’s hardworking farmers and producers for their commitment to feeding and fueling our country and the world," said Feenstra. He highlighted the significant role these individuals play in driving the economy forward and maintaining robust rural communities.
Feenstra outlined his legislative priorities aimed at supporting agricultural workers. These include advocating for a five-year Farm Bill, expanding export markets for Iowa agriculture, and investing in measures against foreign animal diseases. Additionally, he has introduced legislation focused on reducing crop insurance costs for new farmers in Iowa and repealing the death tax on family farms permanently.
"As the only member of Congress serving on both the House Agriculture Committee and the House Ways and Means Committee," Feenstra stated, "I will continue to advocate for our farmers and producers who are the backbone of American agriculture."
Feenstra is also a primary cosponsor of a resolution that designates March 18, 2025, as National Agriculture Day.
