Last week, U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra from Hull announced his support for the Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act. This legislation, led by U.S. House Majority Whip Tom Emmer of Minnesota, aims to prevent the Federal Reserve from authorizing a central bank digital currency or digital dollar.

Representative Feenstra expressed concerns about the potential implications of such a currency on personal freedoms and privacy. "As Americans, we value our freedom and liberty. Yet, the creation of a central bank digital currency would infringe upon our freedoms and threaten our privacy by giving the federal government unfettered access to our personal financial transactions," he stated.

Feenstra also pointed out that countries like China use digital currencies to monitor their citizens' activities, describing it as "a scary situation that we can never allow to happen in the United States." He emphasized the importance of Americans maintaining control over their financial information without government oversight.

In support of Majority Whip Tom Emmer's initiative, Feenstra declared, "The federal government has no business surveilling private data or overseeing personal financial decisions."
