Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, a measure that mandates proof of citizenship for voter registration in U.S. elections. The legislation also requires states to remove noncitizens from voter rolls. U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra of Iowa supported the bill, emphasizing the importance of restricting voting rights to American citizens.
Rep. Feenstra stated, "Only American citizens should be allowed to vote in American elections. It’s why I voted to ban illegal immigrants from voting in our elections and ensure that liberal states like California clean their voter rolls of noncitizens." He further mentioned his commitment to preventing unlawful voting by noncitizens and illegal immigrants to uphold election integrity.
He also expressed his ongoing advocacy for border security and election integrity, indicating plans to continue collaborating with President Trump to ensure that only American citizens participate in voting.
