U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra, a member of both the House Ways and Means Committee and the House Agriculture Committee, has played a significant role in advancing key components of President Trump's "One, Big, Beautiful Bill." This legislation focuses on tax cuts and agricultural investments.
Rep. Feenstra stated, “This week, as a member of both the Ways and Means Committee and the Agriculture Committee, I voted to advance the tax cuts and agricultural investments of President Trump’s ‘One, Big, Beautiful Bill.’ This legislation lowers taxes for our families, farmers, workers, and businesses while supporting investments in domestic manufacturing, business growth, Iowa agriculture, and U.S. energy production.”
He emphasized his satisfaction with specific provisions he led within the bill: “I’m also glad that provisions that I led are included like death tax relief, paid family and medical leave for employees of small businesses, affordable crop insurance policies for young and beginning farmers, investments in foreign animal disease prevention, and expansion of our export markets. Working with President Trump, we are delivering on our promise to the American people to cut taxes, grow our economy, secure our border, and unleash American energy production.”
The provisions championed by Rep. Feenstra include an increase in the exemption on the death tax; support for small businesses to offer paid family and medical leave; flexibility for community banks to provide more affordable agricultural business loans; investments in Iowa biofuels; tax measures aiding American business competitiveness; enhanced standard deductions for families; a new $4,000 bonus deduction for seniors; increased child tax credits; a permanent 23% deduction for qualified business income for small enterprises; reduced crop insurance costs aimed at young farmers; doubled funding for market access programs; support against foreign animal diseases; prevention of errors in SNAP payment distribution ensuring nutrition assistance combats food insecurity effectively; along with watershed infrastructure investment.
