Joni Ernst, a U.S. Senator known for her outspoken views on fiscal responsibility and law enforcement, recently shared a series of tweets addressing various issues related to taxpayer funds and political alignments.

On June 12, 2025, Ernst criticized the policy of "taxpayer-funded union time," describing it as "a completely backwards and bonkers policy that gives handouts to union bosses and puts taxpayers last." She emphasized the need to end this practice in what she refers to as the "Big Beautiful Bill" to save over $1 billion in the next decade. "We must end this absurd practice in the Big Beautiful Bill to save more than $1 billion over the next decade."

Later that day, Ernst addressed financial inefficiencies in social welfare programs. She pointed out that "taxpayers lose nearly a billion dollars each month to SNAP overpayments" due to unreported errors under $56. Ernst proposed a solution within the "One Big Beautiful Bill" aiming at counting every error and reducing these overpayments. "That needs to change in the One Big Beautiful Bill."

In another tweet from June 12, 2025, Ernst contrasted political stances between parties by stating that Democrats are aligning with "illegal immigrants and violent rioters," while Republicans support law enforcement. "The contrast is clear."

Additional information for Step 3: Joni Ernst has been serving as a United States Senator from Iowa since January 2015.
