Congressman Fulcher has expressed his support for a new reconciliation bill that aims to enshrine President Trump's policy agenda into law. He stated, “Today, I voted to deliver what effectively will result in the single largest tax cut in American history for the American People, and to bolster border and military resources to keep our communities safe.”

Fulcher emphasized that while he believed more provisions could have been included, the legislation offers significant benefits for families by codifying key aspects of Trump's policies. The bill seeks to stimulate economic growth by preventing a 22% tax increase through extending the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. It also eliminates taxes on tips and overtime—a measure introduced by Fulcher himself.

Additionally, H.R.1 is designed to enhance American energy production by speeding up permitting processes. It also aims to provide resources for law enforcement and military personnel to complete the border wall and strengthen national defense.

The reconciliation package includes a provision introduced by Fulcher in previous congressional sessions, which eliminates federal income tax on overtime pay.

Key elements of H.R. 1 include making permanent the 2017 Trump tax cuts, incorporating Fulcher's KEEP Act to remove taxes on overtime, tips, car loan interest, and reducing taxes on seniors' social security benefits. The bill also lowers borrowing costs for farmers, provides resources for border security including drug interdiction efforts at ports of entry, expedites LNG export processes, invests in Western water infrastructure, increases timber sales on federal lands with long-term contracts, and establishes work requirements for certain able-bodied adults without dependents.

Fulcher noted that although there is much work ahead for Congress over the coming weeks and months to fulfill their mandate from the American people, they are "off to a solid start."
