Her comments reflect ongoing efforts to safeguard American interests from foreign threats and emphasize the importance of food security and law enforcement safety.

On July 8, 2025, Ernst highlighted "A major step toward preventing China and other foreign adversaries from buying U.S. farmland." She mentioned her efforts to make Secretary Rollins a member of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) through her FARMLAND Act. Ernst emphasized her commitment to protecting agriculture, national security, and food security.

Later that day, she commented on recent attempts by China to undermine U.S. agriculture. Ernst noted "Multiple recent attempts by China to smuggle crop-killing fungus into America are a reminder that food security is national security." She commended the Trump administration's efforts in safeguarding America's food supply.
