Randy Feenstra, a U.S. Congressman representing Iowa's 4th district since 2021, has shared his views on President Trump's legislative proposal through a series of tweets. Feenstra, who succeeded Steve King and previously served in the Iowa Senate from 2009 to 2021, is an advocate for the bill's potential benefits.
On July 8, 2025, Feenstra highlighted the law enforcement provisions of President Trump's "One, Big, Beautiful Bill." He stated that it would support law enforcement by eliminating taxes on overtime pay. Feenstra emphasized that "The men and women who put their lives on the line and service our communities should not see their hard-earned overtime compensation lost to excessive taxation."
Continuing his endorsement of the bill on July 9, 2025, Feenstra noted its impact on energy policy. He asserted that "With President Trump’s 'One, Big, Beautiful Bill,' we will restore American energy dominance." The tweet listed specific measures such as a streamlined permitting process and increased oil and gas production. Additionally, it mentioned homegrown Iowa biofuels as part of efforts to lower gas prices and reduce reliance on foreign energy sources.
Later that day, Feenstra addressed tax relief aspects of the proposed legislation. He remarked that "President Trump’s 'One, Big, Beautiful Bill' makes tax relief permanent for Americans." According to him, this financial reprieve allows families and workers to invest more in the economy while enabling small businesses to grow and hire new employees.
Randy Feenstra was born in Hull, Iowa in 1969 and graduated from Dordt University with a BA in 1991. He continues to reside in Hull.
