Today, U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra announced his support for two bills aimed at assisting veterans. The U.S. House of Representatives has unanimously passed these bills, which focus on healthcare and benefits for veterans.
Rep. Feenstra stated, "Our veterans are heroes who answered the call to serve our country and defend our freedoms. It is our responsibility to ensure that they receive the high-quality healthcare and benefits that they have earned and deserve." He emphasized his backing of the legislation, which supports cancer research for veterans and ensures proper funding for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). "I will always stand with our veterans and military families," he added.
The first piece of legislation, known as the PRO Veterans Act, mandates that the VA provide in-person budget reports to Congress every three months over a period of three years. The second bill, called the ACES Act, requires a study by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine on cancer prevalence among veterans who served as active-duty aircrew members.
