Senator Joni Ernst, representing Iowa, recently posted a series of statements on her official Twitter account addressing legislative initiatives and national policy issues.

On July 25, 2025, Senator Ernst shared her engagement with local industry leaders: "I met with leaders from Iowa's Perspective Therapeutics to discuss my INNOVATE Act that ensures we invest in the best and brightest Americans through the SBIR-STTR programs." The SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) and STTR (Small Business Technology Transfer) programs are federal initiatives designed to support scientific excellence and technological innovation by investing in research and development among small businesses.

Three days later, on July 28, 2025, Ernst commented on a recent trade agreement negotiated by the former president: "President Trump is the deal maker in chief! This historic trade deal delivers major wins for Iowa farmers." Iowa's agricultural sector is highly reliant on export markets, making international trade agreements significant for the state's economy.

In another post later that day, Senator Ernst referenced legislation she sponsored: "Just heartbreaking. My Sarah's Law, signed into law by President Trump, ensures that any illegal alien who harms an American will be detained by ICE." Sarah's Law mandates federal immigration authorities to detain undocumented immigrants charged with crimes resulting in death or serious bodily injury to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents.

Senator Ernst has served as one of Iowa’s two senators since 2015. She is known for advocating agricultural interests and immigration reform measures. Her recent posts highlight ongoing efforts to support innovation among small businesses, promote favorable trade conditions for farmers, and enforce stricter immigration laws.
