Rep. Randy Feenstra, who represents Iowa’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on July 30, 2025, addressing local development, Social Security concerns, and veteran support initiatives.

In his first post of the day, Feenstra highlighted recent efforts to improve housing in rural Iowa: "Last week, our Ag & Manufacturing Liaison — Wes — participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for an 82-unit housing complex in Cherokee. Projects like these are critical to expanding affordable housing in rural Iowa and keeping young families rooted in our rural communities." (July 30, 2025)

Later that afternoon, Feenstra turned his attention to Social Security and retirement security for seniors: "Our seniors deserve to retire with dignity. However, due to reckless spending, the Social Security Trust Fund will run out of funds by 2033 to pay benefits in full. My Save Our Seniors Act will help ensure our seniors receive their checks and Social Security remains solvent." (July 30, 2025)

In his final update of the day, Feenstra expressed gratitude for new legislation supporting veterans: "I thank President Trump for signing into law the VA Home Loan Program Reform Act, which will help keep veterans in their homes and alleviate financial stress. Our veterans are true American heroes, and this law represents a small token of our gratitude for their service." (July 30, 2025)

Feenstra has represented Iowa’s 4th District since replacing Steve King in Congress in 2021. Prior to serving at the federal level, he was a member of the Iowa Senate from 2009 to 2021. Born in Hull, Iowa in 1969 and currently residing there at age 54, Feenstra graduated from Dordt University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1991.
