U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra announced that his office has worked with the Social Security Administration in Marshalltown and the Iowa Veterans Home to make it possible for residents of the home to change their direct deposit preferences over the phone, rather than requiring an in-person visit.

“I’m glad that my office and I could work with the Social Security Administration to ensure that residents at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown could make changes to their direct deposit preferences over the phone. This fix will make it much easier for veterans to make changes to their Social Security benefits without having to leave their residences and causing needless headaches,” said Rep. Feenstra. “Our office is committed to helping Iowans any way that we can, and this is just one example of how we are working to support our veterans and their caretakers. As always, I encourage Iowans to contact our office at online at Feenstra.House.Gov or over the phone at 202-225-4426 if we can ever be of assistance with navigating the federal government.”

Feenstra has represented Iowa’s 4th congressional district since 2021 after replacing Steve King. He previously served in the Iowa Senate from 2009 until 2021. Born in Hull, Iowa, in 1969, Feenstra continues to reside there. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Dordt University in 1991.
