Rep. Randy Feenstra, U.S. Congressman representing Iowa’s 4th district since 2021, used his social media account on September 2, 2025, to highlight recent legislative efforts aimed at seniors and rural broadband access.

In a post from the morning of September 2, Feenstra announced: "The 'One, Big, Beautiful Bill' delivers a $6,000 deduction for our seniors. This move ensures that 88% of seniors won’t have to pay taxes on their Social Security. That’s a big deal and helps seniors keep more of the money that they earned." [September 2, 2025]

Later that day, he reiterated support for senior tax relief by referencing feedback from his constituents: "The other week, I asked subscribers to my weekly newsletter if they thought that Social Security benefits should be taxed. 90% said NO! I agree, and it's why I voted for the 'One, Big, Beautiful Bill,' which delivers a $6,000 tax deduction for seniors." [September 2, 2025]

Feenstra also addressed broadband access in rural communities in another post: "Last week, I introduced legislation to reauthorize the Middle Mile program to connect homes, farms, and businesses to the internet as efficiently as possible. Rural Iowa deserves reliable, affordable access to high-speed broadband & this bill will help close the digital divide." [September 2, 2025]

Randy Feenstra has served in Congress since replacing Steve King in 2021 and previously served in the Iowa Senate from 2009 to 2021. Born in Hull, Iowa in 1969 and currently residing there at age 54, Feenstra graduated from Dordt University with a BA in 1991.
