U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra, who represents Iowa’s 4th district in Congress, recently shared updates on social media about activities involving his staff and legislative actions.
On September 8, Feenstra posted that his District Director visited the Des Moines VA Medical Center and met with the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. In his tweet, Feenstra stated, "Today, our District Director — Emily — visited the Des Moines VA Medical Center and met with @SecVetAffairs. During his visit, the Secretary recognized outstanding VA employees. I appreciate everything President Trump and Secretary Collins are doing to put our veterans first."
Later that day, Feenstra reported that while he was traveling to Washington D.C., a member of his team attended a local event. He wrote on September 8: "Today, while I was flying to D.C. for votes, Wes on our team attended the Clay County Fair. Our county fairs are great traditions that highlight our strong ag roots and keep our rural communities vibrant. I’m glad that so many Iowans could get out and enjoy the festivities!"
On September 9, Feenstra highlighted a recent legislative vote focused on government efficiency: "Tonight, I voted for legislation to ensure that federal agencies use office space in the most efficient way possible and share space with other departments when feasible. This move will make our federal government more efficient & save taxpayer dollars — just as Americans want."
Feenstra has served in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Steve King in representing Iowa’s 4th district (source). Before joining Congress, he served in the Iowa Senate from 2009 to 2021. Born in Hull, Iowa in 1969, Feenstra continues to reside there and is an alumnus of Dordt University.
