Senator Joni Ernst, representing Iowa, recently used her social media platform to highlight notable achievements and meetings involving prominent figures from her state. Her posts between September 16 and 17, 2025, covered recognition for small business leadership, discussions with a leading veterans’ advocate, and a birthday message to a Senate colleague.

On September 16, 2025, Ernst congratulated Larry Wajda for his recent recognition by the Small Business Administration (SBA). She wrote: "Congratulations to Iowa's own Larry Wajda for being recognized by @SBAgov as a State Star for his tireless efforts to fight for small businesses! As the regional director for the Northwest Iowa SBDC, his commitment to Iowa’s small business community is unmatched." The SBA State Star award is given annually to individuals who demonstrate outstanding service and support of small businesses in their regions.

The following day, on September 17, Ernst shared details of her meeting with Carol Whitmore, National Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). In her post she stated: "It was an honor to meet with National Commander of the @VFWHQ, Carol Whitmore. As both the first Iowan and woman to hold this leadership position, it was meaningful to discuss key legislative issues impacting the veteran and military communities with a fellow female Army vet". Whitmore’s appointment marks a milestone as she is both the first person from Iowa and the first woman to lead the VFW.

Later that same day on September 17, Ernst extended birthday wishes to Senator Chuck Grassley via social media. She posted: "U already kno wht 2day is! Hppy bday 2 my gr8 friend, @ChuckGrassley! #realhistorychannel".

Senator Joni Ernst has served in Congress since 2015 and frequently highlights achievements by Iowans in government service or community roles. Her use of social media reflects ongoing engagement with constituents about local accomplishments and legislative matters.
