U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) has supported legislation aimed at strengthening crime prevention efforts in Washington, D.C. This week, Feenstra voted in favor of several bills passed by the U.S. House of Representatives that seek to codify measures initiated under former President Donald Trump to address public safety concerns in the capital.
“When Iowans travel to our nation’s capital, they should feel safe walking the streets, visiting the monuments, and enjoying time with friends and family. It’s why I voted to codify President Trump’s work to fight crime, hold lawbreakers accountable, and make D.C. safe again,” said Rep. Feenstra. “Since President Trump took decisive action to clean up Washington, D.C., carjackings have fallen a staggering 87% and crime levels are down significantly. I agree with President Trump that our capital should exemplify the exceptionalism of the United States, and that means fighting crime and maintaining law and order.”
Feenstra has represented Iowa’s 4th Congressional District since 2021 after succeeding Steve King in Congress. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Iowa Senate from 2009 to 2021. Born in Hull, Iowa in 1969, Feenstra continues to reside there and is an alumnus of Dordt University.
