Randy Feenstra, U.S. Congressman representing Iowa’s 4th district since 2021, shared updates on social media about his recent meetings and initiatives focused on supporting Iowa’s manufacturing sector, encouraging student participation in technology competitions, and fostering business growth.
On September 17, 2025, Feenstra posted about a meeting with the Association of Equipment Manufacturers Advocacy group. In his tweet he stated, "It’s always a pleasure to meet with @AEMAdvocacy & talk about how we can support our manufacturing community in Iowa. We covered a wide range of topics, including the pro-growth tax policies we recently codified into law, a new Farm Bill, trade agreements, and death tax relief."
Later that day, Feenstra highlighted National App Challenge Day. He wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "Today is National App Challenge Day! I strongly encourage Iowa middle and high school students to participate in this year’s Congressional App Challenge and have fun while coding and building their own app. The deadline to make a submission is Thursday October 30th!" This initiative aims to inspire young Iowans to engage in computer science and technology by creating their own applications.
In another post from September 17, Feenstra discussed economic development efforts after meeting with local organizations such as the Greater Des Moines Partnership, Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce, and Ames Economic Development Alliance. He said, "I had a great discussion with Iowans from @DSMpartnership, @ChamberQC, and @AmesAlliance about how we can make Iowa the friendliest state for business, manufacturing & agriculture. We also talked about the importance of investments in research, especially for ag & manufacturing."
Feenstra has represented Iowa's 4th District since succeeding Steve King in 2021. Prior to his time in Congress he served in the Iowa Senate from 2009 until his election to federal office. Born in Hull, Iowa in 1969 and an alumnus of Dordt University (BA ‘91), Feenstra continues to reside in Hull while focusing on legislative priorities relevant to his constituents.
