Feenstra names members of 2025 military academy selection board

U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra has announced the eight individuals who will serve on the 2025 Military Academy Selection Board for Iowa’s 4th Congressional District. The board is responsible for recommending candidates to attend U.S. military academies.

“I am excited to officially announce the eight members who will serve on our 2025 Military Academy Selection Board and recommend strong candidates to attend our nation’s exceptional military academies. This is a consequential and important task, and I appreciate these Iowans for lending their time and talents to this process,” said Rep. Feenstra. “Attending one of our nation’s military academies is a distinct honor, and I look forward to reviewing and nominating young Iowans who have a heart for service and a commitment to defending our country’s values.”

The board members are Al Bloemendaal of Sioux Center, Ryan Hildreth of Manson, Jarret Heil of Haverhill, Kattie Lewis of Hastings, Lexie Ruter of Estherville, Brian Torresi of Ames, Dr. Jesse Ulrich of Fort Dodge, and John Wills of Spirit Lake.

High school seniors interested in applying to a military academy should contact Congressman Feenstra’s Fort Dodge District Office at 515-302-7060. The deadline for consideration for next year’s class is October 1, 2025.

Randy Feenstra has represented Iowa's 4th district in the U.S. Congress since 2021 after succeeding Steve King. Before his congressional service, he was an Iowa state senator from 2009 to 2021. Feenstra was born in Hull, Iowa in 1969 and continues to reside there. He graduated from Dordt University with a bachelor's degree in 1991.
