Randy Feenstra, U.S. Congressman representing Iowa’s 4th district since 2021, used his social media account to comment on recent political developments and local news in Iowa. Feenstra, who succeeded Steve King and previously served in the Iowa Senate, addressed topics ranging from federal budget negotiations to recognitions of Iowans in national service.

On October 9, 2025, Feenstra criticized Democratic lawmakers over federal budget negotiations, stating, "Democrats shut down the government because they want to spend another $1.5 trillion in taxpayer dollars. They don't care about cutting wasteful spending or balancing our budget."

Later that day, Feenstra congratulated a fellow Iowan on a new federal appointment. He wrote, "Congratulations to Iowan David Barker on being confirmed by the U.S Senate to serve as President Trump’s Assistant Secretary for Postsecondary Education! He will support Iowa families and students!" This appointment marks a significant federal role for Barker, with Feenstra expressing optimism about its impact on Iowa.

On October 10, 2025, Feenstra paid tribute to a World War II veteran from Iowa whose remains were recently identified. He posted, "While serving our country during WWII, Iowan and Second Lt. Blaine Wilcox was killed in action, but his remains were just recently identified. About 80 years since his death, he was buried in his hometown of Glenwood this past Tuesday. May Second Lt. Wilcox rest in peace."

Feenstra, 54, was born and currently resides in Hull, Iowa. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dordt University and has been active in state and national politics for over a decade.
