The City of Sioux City has issued a statement on the usage of masks as Gov. Kim Reynolds has yet to announce a statewide order to wear masks amid the new spike of COVID-19 cases.
“Effective Wednesday, July 29, 2020, protective masks or face coverings will be required in all city buildings by members of the public,” the city said in a statement on its website. “Additionally, all city staff will also be required to wear protective masks or face coverings in city buildings while in common areas or in rooms where social distancing cannot be maintained or where barriers are not in place to protect from COVID-19. These requirements shall stay in place until further notice.”
It also gave private businesses the green light to require customers and clients to wear face masks while inside their establishments.
Those with questions were encouraged to call the City Legal Department at 712-279-6318.
