As Diocese of Sioux City Catholic Schools prepare to reopen at the end of August, superintendent Patty Lansink said that the schools are prepared to meet challenges that may arise in the new school year.
Every school in the diocese has a plan for not only providing in-person instruction, but also for providing remote instruction if it becomes necessary, Lansink told KMEG. Additionally, schools will have a plan for providing a mix of in-person and remote learning if needed.
“But the hybrid for most includes onsite instruction and providing online options for those who want or need it for underlying health conditions,” she said.
Among guidelines for the new school year is a recommendation that students and staff wear masks, that all perform health screenings at home before coming to school and remain home if they feel ill, and plans for maintaining physical distancing during the school day.
