Wet-Nose Rescue Garden Party "Flocks & Flowers" on July 15

“Flocks and Flowers” will be the theme of the third annual Wet-Nose Garden Party set for Friday evening, July 15, at the farm of the Trobaugh, Wet-Nose supporters.  Wet-Nose is an organization dedicated to the rescue of cats and dogs. Since Dec. 1, the group has occupied a building on the south edge of Le Mars, which eventually will be licensed as a shelter.  Each year Wet-Nose observes its anniversary on July 15 with a garden party.  The Trobaughs not only will be showing off their flowers but also a colorful flock of Rhode Island Red chickens and Japanese roosters. Also featured will be some kittens which have been in the couple’s care.

The Wet-Nose Garden Party will begin at 5 p.m. and continue to 8 p.m. During the evening, Wet-Nose will award its “Wet-Nose Friend of the Year.” Past recipients were Dr. John Conley, Le Mars veterinarian, and Jim and Roxie Anderson of Le Mars.

Myra Trobaugh, a native of Panama, will serve appetizers from her native land. Wet-Nose Rescue will offer refreshments, including bone-shaped cookies for people.

The public is invited to the party, where freewill donations will be accepted for Wet-Nose. To reach the Trobaugh farm, travel four miles east of the Le Mars gas pump corner on C-30 to Otter Ave., then left (north) for a half mile to the Trobaughs.

Anyone with questions may contact Angel Anderson, Wet-Nose president, at 540-5919 or aaeyes@2011@gmail.com.

Hope to see you admiring either the flocks or the flowers as Wet-Nose marks another year!
