WASHINGTON, D.C. – On May 17, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) joined U.S. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) in demanding that President Joe Biden address the nation’s nearly $32-trillion debt crisis before the United States defaults on its debt obligations.
“President Biden is jeopardizing the American economy and our families by failing to negotiate in good faith to resolve our nation’s nearly $32-trillion debt crisis. His wasteful spending policies put us in this mess in the first place and now it’s time for him to face the consequences,” said Rep. Feenstra. “While the President expects Republicans to cave to his demands, he is gravely mistaken. Republicans are resolute in our mission to end wasteful spending, reduce our national debt, and protect our families and taxpayers.”
Last month, Feenstra voted for, and the U.S. House Republican Conference passed, the Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023, which would eliminate roughly $4.8 trillion in wasteful spending from the federal budget over the next decade and set our nation on the path to fiscal responsibility.
