WASHINGTON, D.C. – On May 24, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) voted for, and the U.S. House of Representatives approved, a Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution overturning President Biden’s $400-billion student loan bailout.
“Through the reckless power of the pen, President Biden unfairly bailed out student loans for college graduates at the expense of working families in rural America. It’s costly, unfair, and wrong,” said Rep. Feenstra. “Iowa taxpayers who paid their way through college or chose to forgo higher education entirely should not be forced to foot the bill for President Biden’s $400-billion student loan giveaway. Our nation is nearly $32 trillion in debt; we can’t afford to add $400 billion to our credit card when our families are already struggling from record inflation and government waste.”
President Biden’s student loan scheme would transfer up to $20,000 in debt per student to American taxpayers.
