The National Taxpayers Union has released its 14th annual "No Brainers" list, highlighting legislative reforms that aim to benefit American taxpayers. Among the featured legislation is the Save Our Seniors Act, introduced by U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra from Hull. This bill seeks to address the long-term solvency of Social Security by mandating that the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) provide an honest projection of Social Security's financial health in its annual ten-year economic outlook.

Rep. Feenstra emphasized the importance of maintaining Social Security as a reliable source for seniors, stating, "Social Security is a solemn contract between the federal government and America’s seniors that must always be honored." He pointed out concerns about Social Security's potential insolvency due to years of excessive government spending and stressed the need for proactive measures. "Instead of wrongfully assuming Social Security will remain funded indefinitely," he said, "my bill will ensure that the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office includes the honest projection of Social Security’s financial health in its annual ten-year outlook."

Nick Johns, Senior Policy and Government Affairs Manager at the National Taxpayers Union, praised Rep. Feenstra's efforts with this legislation. "National Taxpayers Union applauds Rep. Feenstra for his work on the Save Our Seniors Act," Johns remarked. He highlighted that including Social Security's fiscal health in CBO's economic outlook is crucial for ensuring lawmakers prioritize its solvency.
