Yesterday, U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) participated in a unanimous vote by the U.S. House of Representatives to approve the Successful Entrepreneurship for Reservists and Veterans (SERV) Act.
The legislation mandates a report from the Government Accountability Office on capital access for veteran small business owners. It also requires the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Interagency Task Force on Veterans Small Business Development to create a plan assisting veterans in starting small businesses.
Rep. Feenstra expressed his support, stating, “Our veterans are heroes who selflessly answered the call to serve our country. As a grateful nation, we must ensure that they receive the high-quality healthcare, benefits, and support that they deserve and have earned.” He added, “That’s why I supported legislation to help our veterans secure the capital and resources that they need to start a business and enhance outreach efforts to veterans who wish to open a business. I will always stand with our veterans who have sacrificed immensely on behalf of our country.”
