Randy Feenstra, U.S. Congressman representing Iowa’s 4th district since 2021, has repeatedly criticized Senate Democrats for their role in the ongoing government shutdown, according to a series of posts on his official social media account.

On November 4, 2025, Feenstra posted: "It's Day 35 of the Democrat shutdown. Liberals are stopping SNAP benefits and blocking pay for our troops and Air Traffic Controllers all to give free healthcare to illegal immigrants and spend another $1.5 trillion. Democrats need to get serious and reopen the government."

Later that day, he added: "Senate Democrats have now voted 14 TIMES to keep the Schumer shutdown going. Liberals are putting illegal immigrants over American citizens. Democrats do not care how many people get hurt so long as they can implement their radical, progressive agenda." (November 4, 2025)

Continuing his criticism on November 5, Feenstra wrote: "It's Day 36 of the Democrat shutdown. Since liberals want to give free healthcare to illegal immigrants, they are preventing the SNAP program from being funded and blocking pay for our troops and Air Traffic Controllers. Democrats are completely responsible for this shutdown!"

Randy Feenstra began serving in Congress in 2021 after replacing Steve King and previously served in the Iowa Senate from 2009 to 2021. Born in Hull, Iowa in 1969, Feenstra graduated from Dordt University with a BA in 1991 and continues to reside in Hull.
