Rep. Randy Feenstra, a U.S. Congressman representing Iowa’s 4th district since 2021, recently posted several statements on his official Twitter account regarding federal agricultural policy, the ongoing government shutdown, and military funding for Iowa.
On November 6, 2025, Feenstra expressed appreciation for the inclusion of phosphate and potash on the Critical Minerals List, stating: "I’m grateful to President Trump for delivering for Iowa farmers & adding both phosphate & potash to the final Critical Minerals List. This is a request that I helped lead to ensure our farmers have access to the affordable inputs they need to feed & fuel our country & the world."
The following day, November 7, Feenstra addressed the government shutdown in another post: "It’s Day 38 of the Democrat shutdown. Liberals don’t care how much the American people suffer so long as they can give free healthcare to illegal immigrants and spend an extra $1.5 trillion. Democrats are completely out of touch."
Later on November 7, he highlighted his efforts regarding military construction in Iowa: "I’m proud to lead the IA delegation in urging military construction projects at the 185th Air Refueling Wing be funded in the final National Defense Authorization Act. This is the first time in U.S. history that support for the 185th ARW was included in any version of the NDAA!"
Feenstra has represented Iowa’s 4th District since replacing Steve King in Congress in 2021 and previously served in the Iowa Senate from 2009 to 2021. Born in Hull, Iowa in 1969 and a graduate of Dordt University with a BA earned in 1991, Feenstra continues to reside in Hull.
