WASHINGTON, D.C. – On April 19, during a House Agriculture Committee hearing, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) urged EPA Administrator Michael Regan and the Biden Administration to approve an emergency waiver to allow for the sale of low-cost E-15 this summer.
“The Biden Administration needs to stop dragging its feet and finally approve E-15 sales for this summer,” said Rep. Feenstra. “Without this simple waiver, American families will face higher prices at the pump and fewer dollars in their pockets. The choice is clear – we need to make E-15 available 365 days a year, beginning this summer, at the gas pump to provide relief for our families, farmers, and small businesses.”
Making E-15 available at the pump year-round would save American drivers $20.6 billion in annual fuel costs, support 188,000 new good-paying jobs, and generate $66.3 billion toward our GDP. In 2021 alone, a record 814 million gallons of E-15 was sold in the United States, saving drivers roughly 22 cents a gallon and keeping costs low for families.###
