Today, U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra expressed support for the Crucial Communism Teaching Act by voting in favor of it. The legislation aims to instruct the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation to develop a curriculum for high school students about communism's dangers and history.

Feenstra cited concerning statistics as a reason for his vote. "According to recent statistics, nearly one third of America’s youth hold a favorable opinion of communism and nearly twenty percent believe that communism is better than capitalism," he stated. He emphasized that these views should not become common among future generations if the United States is to succeed and prosper.

The Congressman described his vote as an effort to counteract what he sees as the spread of a dangerous ideology in schools. "I voted for the Crucial Communism Teaching Act to push back against the spread of this dangerous ideology in our schools and educate our children about communism’s ugly past," said Feenstra.
