U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra has cast his vote in favor of legislation that aims to impose sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC). The U.S. House of Representatives passed this bill, which targets the ICC for issuing arrest warrants against Israeli officials. The proposed sanctions would also extend to other foreign entities that unlawfully target American allies.
Rep. Feenstra commented on the situation, referencing an event from October 7th, 2023: “On October 7th, 2023, Hamas terrorists broke a ceasefire, invaded Israel, slaughtered 1,200 innocent people, and took hostages – many of whom have since been killed. For the International Criminal Court to issue arrest warrants for Israeli government officials who are working to protect their nation is not only unwarranted but also completely offensive.”
Feenstra further explained his position by stating: “We cannot let the ICC get away with these awful stunts while the people of Israel continue to bravely fight for their very existence. It’s why I voted to impose sanctions on the International Criminal Court for its dangerous and abhorrent actions. As our closest ally in the Middle East, I will always stand with Israel against vicious terrorists.”
