U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra has announced the reopening of the Rock Valley Post Office, which had been closed for several months following devastating floods. The post office will resume operations on Friday.

Feenstra had made multiple appeals to the United States Postal Service (USPS) leadership, urging them to expedite the reopening process.

“This summer’s devastating floods hit Rock Valley particularly hard, leaving homes, schools, businesses, and other structures damaged and destroyed. While our neighbors worked quickly to get back to some semblance of normalcy, the post office was needlessly lagging behind,” stated Rep. Feenstra. He emphasized the importance of postal services for Iowans in managing essential tasks like paying bills and receiving medications. “I’m glad that – following repeated requests and a trip in December to see the post office myself – the post office is fully reopened, and my constituents can visit in person – as it should be.”

The closure of the Rock Valley Post Office had disrupted these vital services for local residents. The reopening marks a step toward restoring normalcy in the community.
